Guyana: Mingo Charged In Election Returns

District Four Returning Officer Clairmont Mingo has been charged with four counts of misconduct in public office, in relation to the alleged fraud surrounding the Guyana’s March 2nd elections.  Four other persons: Mingo’s three assistants, Sheffern February, Michelle Miller and Carolyn Mikhaik Duncan along with Information Technology (IT) officer Enrique Livan, are also likely to be charged.
The activities of Mingo during the election count after the election appear to have contributed directly to the return of false results and the subsequent delay in implementing the results of the election.
