Results from Equatorial Guinea’s legislative elections are in. The Ruling Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE), headed by longtime strongman Teodor Obiang, captured all 75 Senate seats and 99 of 100 seats in the Chamber of Deputies. As the country faces succession issues, it is unclear whether these results will serve to clear up questions and quell nascent opposition to the Obiang dynasty in this impoverished nation with a high GDP.
